Changing the Look
Geppetto blocks are themeable.
You use the same blocks to build a site for a tech startup as you would for your local kickball league. The theme is what makes them look appropriate for each use case.
Theme overview
Themeable blocks allow you to think about the visual aspects of your site separate from the structure. This is a nice way to work. When you're building pages you're thinking about structure: "I need to show some images here" or "I need an accordion so the FAQ isn't overwhelming". Theming is a totally different set of decisions: "The green needs to be a bit brighter" or "The headline is too big".
Geppetto puts the design decisions in the theme. Get the structure of your site started and whenever you feel like it start to define the look. If you don't like the look in six months revise it in the theme, no need to recreate anything.
What you control
The theme gives you control over color, typography, spacing and a few common UI components like buttons and cards. By revising these elements you can completely change the look of your site.
What to change
The best way to understand how the theme and your site interact is to jump in and start making some changes. You'll see your updates live in the preview, select which page to preview from the dropdown in the top left. Changes you make here aren't saved until you press the save button so feel free to experiment.
The AI theme assistant
The theme AI assistant can be opened using the amber sparkle icon in the lower right of the theme preview. The assistant can make bulk changes based on your prompts: "make it dark and minimal", "bigger headlines", "a more whimsical headline font". The AI will get you close. You can finesse the type size and colors to make it just right.
Fonts
Use Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, or your own uploaded font files. See Fonts for setup details.
